The need of religion is diminishing in our time.
In my humble opinion this thesis is unfortunately true. I consider myself as a person believing in God, maybe because I was born in a conservative, Catholic family. However, this is not an easy task to always remember, that this life is just a short period in our existence. Most of us live in a post-industrial societies in which a top priority is to have a well-paid job. Money will give you happiness - so they say. In this pursuit there is no time to think what will happen later? After my kids leave me, when they start their own families, after I retire and no more have a pride of being the CEO of the most respectable company in the market, and eventually after I die. Religion provides us with answers to this questions, but we keep denying it. We thin that there is no need to be worry about such a distant future, all we have to do is just to enjoy today. And that is sad, because I think that we are meant to be something more than a participants in a rat race.
